Following the end of Harris' term as Governor, Andrew Johnson (born December 29, 1808 in Raleigh, North Carolina; died July 31, 1875 in Elizabethton, Tennessee) became the nineteenth Governor of Tennessee, serving between March 12, 1862 and March 4, 1865.
