Culberson as the twenty-second Governor of Texas, serving between January 17, 1899 and January 20, 1903. Following the end of Sayers' term as Governor, SWT Lanham (born July 4, 1846 in South Carolina; died July 19, 1908 in Texas) became the twenty-third Governor of Texas, serving between January 20, 1903 and Janaury 15, 1907.
