Best Answer

Fernando Armindo Lugo Méndezwas the President of Paraguay at the start of 2012. He was replaced on June 22 by Luis Federico Franco Gómez.

Lugo became the president of Paraguay on 2008 August 15, becoming the first president not of the Colorado Party in over 60 years. Lugo was previously a Roman Catholic bishop, although he has admitted to fathering a child while he was a bishop.

On 2012 June 22, Lugo was impeached by the senate, at which point Franco became the President of Paraguay. Franco is a surgeon by profession, and his family owns a hospital, in which Federico was employed until his jump to politics.
