Kaiser Wilhelm II
Kaiser Wilhelm II died from a lung embolism in 1941. He was the last Emperor of Germany from 1888 to 1918. When it was apparent that Germany would lose the war in 1918, he abdicated the throne and left Germany. He was born in 1859.
Franz Josef I was Emperor of Austria/ king of Hungary, when Austria entered WW1. The last emperor was Charles I of Austria (also written Karl I of Austria) who ascended the throne when Franz Josef died in 1916. He abdicated Nov 11 1918 and died in exile.
