The authors of the four New Testaments are commonly known as the evangelists. Since Mark was the earliest gospel written, its author was the first to write about Mary mother of Jesus, Mary Magdelene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses. The authors of Matthew, Luke and John also wrote about these women called Mary.
Luke and John wrote about Mary, sister of Martha.
