the various political parties. After the national election, the leader of the party that
wins the most seats in the Knesset is assigned by the President to form a government,
and he becomes the Prime Minister.

At the present time (mid-April 2013), Israel's Prime Minister is Benjamin Netanyahu,
and its President is Shimon Peres.
