God loves a cheerful giver. If Paul doesn't want to tithe then its his personal choice. God doesn't need money, the point of tithing is to show him that he matters more to you than any currency. Attempting to persuade someone to give up money if it is not of their own accord is sure way to drive them away from God.

Tithing in the New Testament is voluntary, not something we have to do. The point of tithing is to offer some of what God has given us back to him as a thanks and sign that we believe He will keep providing (and also to protect us from grasping money too closely and forgetting generosity). 2 Corinthians 9:7 says "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Because of that, you "should" only pray and ask God what He wants you to do, and do what you are willing to do.
