Short Answer: 3M Scientists Dr. Spencer Silver and Arthur Fry.
Long(er) Story: The invention of sticky notes is a two-part story that, like many great inventions, starts with an absolute accident.
In 1968, 3M scientist Dr. Spencer Silver was trying to formulate a super-strong adhesive when he serendipitously stumbled onto a "low tack" repositionable formula. While Dr. Silver found no immediately use for the substance, he at least had the foresight to patent his discovery. Patent 3691140 for "Acrylate Copolymer Microspheres" was issued on March 9, 1970.
Silver thought of many uses for this new adhesive, but no one at 3M could find a marketable use for the stuff. That is, until Arthur Fry, another scientist at 3M, watched a presentation Dr. Silver made about the substance in 1973.
Legend has it that Fry found a use for Silver's glue after struggling to keep the pages of his church hymnal properly bookmarked. Frustrated at the slipping sheets of paper, he realized that if the adhesive could be applied to the back of paper his problems would be solved.
Working with a sample of Silver's adhesive concoction, Fry continually experimented with different ways of coating the backs of paper - eventually settling on coating only one edge. Demand for samples of the removable note papers grew within the company, and 3M finally agreed to market the product.
3M's Post-It Note, the original sticky note, was released to the public April 6, 1980.
If you're referring to any denomination and not just $1 bills, the first federally-issued bills featured two different individuals: $5 Demand Notes of 1861 carried a portrait of Alexander Hamilton. $10 Demand Notes had a picture of Abraham Lincoln. $20 Demand Notes had images of allegorical figures rather than actual persons
Assuming you're referring to Unites States bills, the first federally-issued $50 notes were Legal Tender Notes released in 1862. A year earlier the government printed $50 interest-bearing notes but these weren't intended for general circulation.
The first 100.00 bill was produced in 1862. A United Sates Note. there were also Compound Interest Treasury Notes, Interest Bearing Notes, National Gold Bank Notes, and Gold Certificates
The first federally-issued $5 bills were "Demand Notes" printed in 1861. They were only issued for one year. In 1862, the first standard-series United States Notes were printed to help pay for the Civil War.
Priceless. The first Federal Reserve Notes were printed in 1914.
Yellow Sticky Notes was created in 2007.
The duration of Yellow Sticky Notes is 360.0 seconds.
Spencer Silver invented the adhesive used in Post-it notes in 1968 while working for 3M. Arthur Fry later developed the idea of using the adhesive for sticky notes in 1974, leading to the official launch of Post-it notes in 1980.
Some sticky notes are 3 inches by 3 inches. The sizes of these notes vary.
