Manuel Valls, born Aug. 13, 1962 in Barcelona (Spain), is the French Prime Minister since March 31, 2014. He was appointed by the French President, François Hollande, to replace the former PM Jean-Marc Ayrault. He was minister for home affairs in the previous government.

It is worth noting that since France is a Presidential system, the President has much more power than the Prime Minister.
