Cabaza De Vaca's goal was to go to Texas and map out Florida's coast line.
Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca mapped parts of the Texas coastline during his expedition in the early 16th century, specifically around 1528 to 1536. He was one of the first Europeans to explore the region after shipwrecking on the Gulf Coast. His accounts and observations provided valuable insights into the geography and indigenous peoples of Texas.
By 1850 Texas and California would have been on the map, all the plains states, all the southwest and all the southeast, the east coast, and west coast. No Alaska or Hawaii. They were added in 1959.
