∙ 11y agoThe first woman to run for President was Lucretia Moss in 1848 for the Liberty Party. She ran against Major General Zachary Taylor.
Although she didn't get a lot of votes, the first female candidate for the US Presidency was (I believe) Angela Davis.
It was Victoria Woodhull in 1872 .

∙ 10y agoIf you mean First Lady as in the President's wife, the first woman to do this would be Hillary Clinton, although she ended up not being the Democratic nominee for 2008.
