While "hate" may be too strong a word, there are many people who really dislike or distrust President Obama-- perhaps they do not dislike him personally, but they certainly dislike his policies and beliefs (or what they think his policies and beliefs are). Certain ultra-conservative talk show hosts like Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage have expressed very negative views and harsh rhetoric about the president, as have a number of conservative Republican bloggers. And there is a fringe movement of the Republican party called the "birthers" who believe Obama was not born in the United States and should not even be president.

That said, it should be noted that many presidents have been lightning rods, and the subject of very polarizing views. President George W. Bush was as intensely disliked and criticized by the left as President Obama now is criticized by the right. Being in politics can often inspire very strong views, some of which are very hostile and angry. Both Bush and Obama have received that kind of hateful rhetoric during their time in office.
