∙ 14y agoThe Republic of Ireland (Eire) was officially a Neutral Nation in World War Two, though the situation was not a clear-cut as say the Neutrality of Switzerland. There was some sympathy for the German cause, however, mostly due to intense anti-British feelings. Some Irish did volunteer to fight in Allied service, though not as representatives of Eire.
As Northern Ireland was part of the United Kingdom, people from there fought with the various British armed forces.
