Edwin "Buzz" E. Aldrin, Jr.
Alan L. Bean
Charles M. Duke, Jr - was the pilot for the lunar module on the Apollo 16 mission. It was Charles M. Duke, Jr's only spaceflight to date. Apollo 16 was the 10th manned mission to the Moon.
The team for Apollo 11 moon mission were Neil Armstrong, commander, Michael Collins command module pilot and Edwin Aldrin lunar module pilot.
Apollo 8 was the second manned Apollo flight and the first manned mission to the moon. On board was Spacecraft Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot James Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders. The mission was to prove the capability of the Apollo command and lunar modules and crew to operate the lunar distances. The Lunar Module was not on board because it was not ready for flight at that time.
Edwin Aldrin was the Lunar module pilot.
Alan L. Bean was the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 12. He was born on March 15, 1932. He was the backup command pilot for Gemini 10 and on Apollo 9 he was he backup Lunar Module Pilot. Alan L. Bean was the fourth man to walk on the Moon.
The astronauts who flew the Apollo 14 mission were Commander Alan Shepard, Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa, and Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell. The astronauts of the backup crew were Commander Eugene A. Cernan, Command Module Pilot Ronald E. Evans, Jr. and Lunar Module Pilot Joseph H. Engle.
Neil Armstrong - Mission Commander Buzz (Edwin) Aldrin - Lunar Module Pilot Michael Collins - Commander Module Pilot
There were three people on every Apollo lunar mission. On Apollo 17, these were Eugene A. Cernan (Mission Commander), Harrison H. Schmitt (Lunar Module Pilot), and Ronald E. Evans (Command module pilot). As the command module remained in lunar orbit, Evans stayed in it while Schmitt and Cernan went to the surface in the Lunar Module (lander).
Michael Collins piloted Apollo 11 because he was selected as the command module pilot for the mission. His role was to remain in orbit around the moon while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface in the lunar module. Collins played a crucial role in the success of the mission by ensuring a safe rendezvous with the lunar module after its ascent from the moon.
The Apollo spacecraft had a maximum capacity of three people. Each mission typically consisted of three astronauts: a commander, a command module pilot, and a lunar module pilot.
Neil Armstrong, the mission commander, was the one who actually landed the lunar module "Eagle" on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission on July 20, 1969. Buzz Aldrin, the lunar module pilot, was also part of the landing team.
