Answerthere is some questions as to who actually made your weapon. according to some sources the model 28, 29, 30 were all actually made by the company j c Higgins. the 31 was made by high standard. some insist that there was no j c Higgins, it was just a guy at sears. this is true. the was in accounting in the 1930 and 1940's and agreed to let them use j Higgins (sears added the c ) for the sporting goods line. the use of the name all but stopped in 1961 with the introduction of the ted Williams line of sporting goods for sears. john Higgins himself died in 1964 and received no money for the use of his name all those years. the manufacture date of your rifle is around the late 40's early 50's. most do not have a seriel number so actual dating is hard. thanks AnswerThe Sears model 30 was manufactured by High Standardd For a manual see www.histandard.info
