In Greek Mythology, Daedalus had two sons, Icarus and Iapyx. Icarus met his doom as he flew too near to the sun with wings made by his father and fell into the Amazon River where he was drowned.
Daedelus - musician - was born on 1977-10-31.
Daedelus was the inventor of the labyrinth of Minos. This labyrinth was designed to keep hidden the Minotaur (a creature that was half-bull, half-human) and to keep hidden the shame of Pasiphae (Minos' wife who was cursed by Poseidon to mate with a bull). Daedelus was trapped by the King in a tower to create many inventions for him and his kingdom. He is infamous for his creation of wings to carry he and his son Icarus far away from Crete: Icarus flew too close to the Sun and died. Daedelus is not a god, especially not of wine: Dionysus is the god of wine. As for his existence, that is heavily debated by historians.
One is Daedelus
Icarus and his dad, Daedelus, wanted to escape from their confinement in Crete, so his dad made wings for the two of them and they flew. Daedelus warned his son not to fly too high, because the wax that held the wing together would melt. Icarus, blinded by his new power, ignored the warning and flew too high. The wax melted and he plunged into the sea beneath him. Thus, Daedelus lost his son Icarus.

Yes. Daedelus was the genius who created the Labyrinth for King Minos to keep the Minotaur in. When King Minos imprisoned him and his son Icarus after the completion of the maze Daedelus created wings of wax and feathers for he and Icarus to fly away. Icarus flew too close to the sun however, and melted the wax of his wings, falling to a watery grave in the ocean. Check out Jim Henson's Storytellr: Greek Myths. The entire story, and some other good ones are told there.
