I am a physician double board-certified in emergency medicine & integrative/holistic medicine. The only place I have ever hear the use of the phrase "alpha scientist" is in regards to Ann de Wees Allen. She goes by Dr. and states she has a degree as a naturopathic physician but it is impossible to find the school she attended. There are only a handful of accredited schools of naturopathic medicine so I suspect her degree is from an unaccredited school and therefore she holds no license to practice naturopathic medicine. The term "alpha scientist" sounds quite impressive but appears to be a designation reserved just for this gal. With a huge list of apparent accomplishments, she has no published articles in any peer-reviewed scientific or medical journal. Surely, an 'alpha scientist" would be one of those individuals whose published scientifc work would be found somewhere credible.
A nutritional scientist's or nutritionist's primary responsibility is to advise the public about the kinds and serving sizes of food that are recommended. The social sciences, chemistry, biology, and medicine are just a few of the disciplines that nutrition science draws from.
It is inverse; chemistry is very important for medicine; all drugs, for ex. are chemicals.
If you mean physician, a physician is a person that studies medicine.

All drug research and maufacture is chemistry
