The second Victim of Jack the Ripper is generally accepted as Martha Tabram, killed 6 August 1888.

  1. Martha Tabram was most likely the 2nd victim of Jack The Ripper. It is widely accepted that his first victim was Annie Millwood, whom was attacked by a man she didn't know in February of 1888. She survived the attack but died a month later of an aneurysm. Tabram was several weeks before Polly Nicholls. Most experts agree that Mary Anne Nicholls was the third victim of the Whitechapel Murderer.

There is no way to give an accurate answer for the fact that there is a great debate as to who was or was not a Ripper victim. For over 120 years it was taken for granted that Annie Chapman was the Ripper's second victim. We know now that is not the case. Chapman was murdered on September 8, 1888 but in all probability, she was not the second victim.

For over a century it was believed that the Ripper killed only five victims. It is now believed that the count was much higher. If Annie Millwood was his first victim on February 25, 1888 it is most likely that Ada Wilson on March 28, 1888 was his second.

After an absence of three weeks Jack the Ripper returned and murdered two victims in less than an hour. Elizabeth Stride was the first one and then came Catherine Eddowes. Those were the third's ones. Taking the distance and the time, we have to realize that it was not possible for the ripper to achieve the deed.

//It was a 15 minute walk from the scene of Stride's murder to the scene of Eddows' murder. The Ripper had more than enough time to kill both women.//
