The Titans were the children of Gaea, the Earth, and Uranus, the Sky. They had six sons and six daughters. The sons were Cronus, Hyperion, Iapet, Crios, Oceanus, and Coeus. The daughters were Rhea, Themis, Thia, Phoebe, Tethys, and Mnemosyne. The titans married the titanesses, their sisters. Cronus was the youngest son, and he married Rhea. He led the rebellion against their father Uranus, because he had imprisoned Gaea's other children, the Cyclopses and the Hundred-Handed Ones, and Cronus became the new king.

There were many different Titans, and therefore, many different powers. Some examples were:

-Kronos: The King of the Titans, had the power to control time.

-Prometheus: The Titan of Forethought, could see the future.

-Hyperion: Was the Titan god of light, and represented the East.

-Oceanus: Was thought to rule over the supposed earth-encitcling river, Okeanos, which was the source of all fresh water. He also controled the rising and setting of heavenly bodies, which were thought to emerge and descend to his river at the ends of the Earth.

There are many other Titans, these are only a few examples.

There was not one specific titan in Greek Mythology. There were many, beginning with Ouranos and Gaea who gave birth to six children. Two of their children, Kronos and Rhea, gave birth to the olympians.
