My son Calum Morris Macintyre, aged 16 has reached the summit of Ama Dablam today Sunday 25 Oct 2009 as part of the Team Ascent expedition led by Sandy Allan. I'm keen to know about other young people who have climbed this Himalayan peak and to find out if Calum has set a record. He is doing this to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust as his sister (now 14) was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago.
no, the above claim is false. the youngest person to climb ama dablam would be mark pfetzer. he summitted ama dablam at age 15 on october 19, 1995. here's the clip from expedition news about the feat.
