To "prosecute" means to take legal action against someone. Many people have attempted to take the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) to court. Some have succeeded and some have not. It would be impossible to list all the people who have tried to prosecute the Church.

Perhaps you mean "persecute" which means to harrass or oppress. Historically, all sorts of groups have persecuted the Mormons. Government officials in the United States and other nations have banned the Church in their areas. People who just didn't like Mormons for whatever reason, as well as people who thought they were weird, have spread lies and rumors about them, and in the past burned down their homes and buildings forcing them to move. Currently the Church faces persecution from a variety of sources, including Evangelical Christian groups and Gay-Rights activists. Individual members are persecuted by friends and others for a variety of reasons. Most offending to Mormons is persecution coming from those who have left the Church. These people tend to find a public outlet to mock all that Mormons hold sacred - usually the internet or television.

No, Mormons are evil for entirely different reasons apart from not being vegans or even vegetarians. Actually evil is a very personal sort of thing. Why did the Mormons face troubles with their neighbors in Independence Missouri?

Its quite complicated. Basically, in some areas, the Mormons were becoming quite dominant and began to affect the local political races, making the locals quite upset. The locals began to fight the Mormons, trying to kick them out of the area. The violence spread and the state government got involved. The state government decided the best solution was to tell the Mormons to leave the state. The governor issued an extermination order, requiring the Mormons to leave immediately.
