Pontus
In Greek mythology, Pontus or Pontos (Πόντος) (English translation: "sea") was an ancient, pre-Olympian sea-god, one of the Greek primordial deities. Pontus was Gaia's son and, according to the Greek poet Hesiod, he was born without coupling.
Eros is the Greek god of love, Erebus is a primordial deity representing darkness, Nyx is the goddess of night, Aether is the god of light and upper atmosphere, Hemera is the personification of day, the Moirae are the three goddesses of fate in Greek mythology, and Pontus is the primordial god of the sea.
Chaos was the First, the Creator. Chaos birthed Gaia (Earth), Tartarus, Erebus (Darkness), Nyx (night) and Eros. Gaia had children by herself, Uranus, Pontus, Poseidon, Oceanus, Tartarus, Zeus, Hephaestus, Aether and Parthenogenesis. Nyx had children with Erebus, Parthenogenesis, and Uranus. They started the beginning of the Gods.

At first there was just Chaos, Darkness and Night (Chaos, Erebus and Nox), and from their union came Light (Aether) and Day (Hemera). From Light and Day came Love (Eros/Amor), and from Love came the Earth (Gaea) and the Sea (Pontus). Uranus was the Sky, and with Gaea the Earth he fathered the Titans; Kronos, Rhea, Coeus, Phobe, Japetus and Oceanus. Kronos asked the telekhines (dog-like monsters and master smiths) to forge him a weapon that could defeat the Titans and they made him a scythe. With it, he overthrew his father and the Titans ruled for many aeons, until they were overthrown by their children, the gods.
The primordial gods/goddessed all supposedly sprung from Chaos (Χάος), the nothingness which existed in the beginning of everything. His/her children would be: Gaea (Γαία)- the earth Ouranos (Ουρανός)- the sky Pontus (Πόντος)- the sea Nyx (Νυξ)- the night Erebus (Έρεβος)- the shadows Hemera (Έμερα)- the day Tartarus (Τάρταρος)- the deepest nothing-ness in the Underworld
Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon all were sons of Rhea and Cronus; there were many gods and goddesses of ancient myth, some being primal deities who were no more them personifications of elements, emotions, and unseen happenings. These often mentioned no father or mother deities or mortal. Ultimately, all creatures and deities in Greek myth came from the following primordial gods and goddesses; Gaia (earth) Aether (Light) Chaos (Air) Chronos (Time) Erebus (Darkness) Nyx (Night) Eros (Love) Hemera (Day) Oceanus (Water) Phanes (Procreation) Phusis (Nature) Pontus (Sea) Tartarus (the Pit) Tethys (Fresh Water) Thalassa (Sea) Uranus (Heaven/Sky)
