David Irving. The deniers say that the gas chambers were really just showers, and that the poison used to kill Jews was actually used to kill lice. They also say that deaths were due to disease because of the lack of vaccines and also because of starvation. Holocaust deniers think the the Jews doctored photos from the Holocaust.

Look up Lipstadt v. Irving.

Who are some of the major Holocaust deniers?

The major holocaust deniers, such as Germar Rudolf, say that the gas chambers were really morgues where dead bodies were stored before cremation, or shower rooms where crematory workers washed after handling dead bodies. The large amount of Zyklon-B poison gas that was found in the camps, or mentioned on delivery documents, was used to kill lice in the clothing in an attempt to prevent typhus; Zyklon-B was not used to kill the Jews. The major holocaust deniers say that most of the deaths in the camps were due to typhus epidemics because the Nazis did not have a typhus vaccine or DDT to stop an epidemic. Other deaths in the camps were due to lack of food because the German transportation system had been destroyed by Allied bombs. The major holocaust deniers say that the prisoners who were not registered at Auschwitz or Dachau were really sent to sub-camps after taking a shower; they were not sent to gas chambers disguised as shower rooms. The major holocaust deniers say that the Operation Reinhard camps (Treblinka, Belzec and Sobibor) were transit camps where Jews were brought to take a shower and put on prison uniforms before being transported farther east into Russia. The major holocaust deniers say that the Einsatzgruppen mainly killed Communist Commissars, including Jews who were Communist Commissars, although they also killed women and children because they did not want the children to grow up and get revenge on the Germans. The major holocaust deniers say that Hitler and the Nazis had no plan to kill all the Jews. Their plan was to send all the Jews to camps, starting in February 1942, and after the war, the Jews would be relocated someplace outside of Europe. ___ "A German court sentenced Holocaust denier Germar Rudolf to two and a half years in prison for inciting racial hatred in publications and Web sites which "systematically" called into question the Nazi genocide." "German Holocaust Denier Imprisoned for Inciting Racial Hatred", Deutsche Welle, February 16, 2007". Source: Wikipedia, 'Germar Rudolf', footnote 1. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germar_Rudolf), accessed 18 May 2009. There's no such thing as 'major' or 'minor' Holocaust deniers. They are all hate-mongers.

What do Holocaust deniers get for denying the Holocaust?

#1 They get some kick or other out of it. I don't think they are paid for denying the Holocaust._____# 2 There is not really a punishment for denying the Holocaust.______Regarding #2 There are officially 14 countries that have enacted thought crime legislation to specifically protect the holocaust from revisionist. It is important to note that the holocaust is the only subject in the history of the west that is not subject to debate or revision. Denier speculate that this is because the history could not stand up to standardized historical review. My oppinion is my own, but i encourage you to look into the claims and contentions of the holocaust narrative. Some people just want to deny the fact that humanity is capable of such atrocities, and simply want to forget about the nightmarish past. Other, more aggressive, deniers see Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, and other Holocaust victims as sub-human, and that they will go to heaven if they rid the world of them.Another Answer:From what I have read and the revisionsts I met, they truly believe their arguments are logical and accurate and in some claims they are very convincing.Another Answer:There are numerous political reasons why Holocaust Deniers deny the Holocaust, namely to undermine the nature of the State of Israel or the Rights that Jews and other minorities have gained since the Holocaust. Israel is seen by many as being an international reaction to the Holocaust. If the Holocaust was in some way invalidated, this would, in their minds, invalidate the State of Israel. Similarly if minorities were not as violently oppressed and exterminated as they were in the Holocaust, there would be no need to protect them as strongly as they have been protected in Europe. It is important to note that although the Holocaust swayed international opinion as regards Zionist aspirations, the basis for the State of Israel comes out of writings by Herzl, Jabotinsky, and Ahad Ha-Am from before the Holocaust and the connection between the Holocaust and the on-the-ground creation of the State of Israel is tenuous if at all present.

Are schools refusing to teach about the Holocaust?

There are a very few schools in the Western world that have removed the Holocaust from their curriculum, and there are news reports about individual teachers that won't teach it (especially in the UK), either because they are uncomfortable or because they feel pressured. However, the vast majority of schools in the U.S. and other Western countries have strong Holocaust curriculums. I know that some Southern U.S. communities are being pressured to back away from teaching about racism, slavery and subjects uncomfortable to some Christians like the Crusades, but these developments are being fought by educators. Of course, schools in countries run by Holocaust deniers aren't teaching about the Holocaust, but they are getting a skewed view of most of history, not just the Holocaust.
