Session of the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan was held on August 10, 1947. The first civilian session of the National Assembly after separation of East Pakistan, was held on 14th April 1972.

The Constituent Assembly of India strongly believed that the lower caste people who were deprived of the rights of education, social status, etc should be given a chance to enter the main stream of society. Hence they introduced the reservation concept in the constitution. It was to be continued for maybe 10 or 15 years ( exact time frame) initially. Then it should be reviewed by the government. But the subsequent governments didn't abolish( OR lift) the same as they emphasize on caste politics.
