What are halfbreeds in history?

Halfbreeds were people of mixed race. During 19th Century, this term usually referred to someone who had Indian parent or grandparent. [Half-breed is also a political term used during the Progressive era.] Mulatto is a person of mixed black and white ancestry or the offspring of one white parent and one black parent. You will see this referenced in some US Census records from the 1880's.

How much percent of the Red River Rebellion were Europeans?

In 1870, shortly after the end of the Red River Rebellion, a census was taken which showed that the population breakdown of the Red River Settlement was: 5,757 French-speaking Metis, 4,083 English-speaking Halfbreeds, 1,565 European caucasians (overwhelmingly English-speaking), and 558 Indians, for a total population of 11,963. The territory (Rupert's Land) which included Red River was still a British possession. Canada had become an independent nation a few years earlier when, in 1867, the British government passed the British North America Act. Canada wanted to acquire Rupert's Land from Britain, and Britain had agreed to this in principle. Negotiations were still underway, however, as to the finer details of the transfer, when the Red River Rebellion began in the fall of 1869. Even those who were part of the rebellion (overwhelmingly Metis) claimed to be loyal to the Crown. The main issues in the so-called rebellion were the rights of the Metis (and, to a lesser extent, the Halfbreeds), and the terms upon which Rupert's Land, and specifically the Red River Settlement, would become part of Canada. There were very few Europeans who were supporters of the rebellion, no more than a handful and certainly less than one percent of the population. Although some were long-standing members of the Red River community who sympathized with the Metis, most of the Europeans supporting the rebellion were Fenians. (So, your next homework assignment is to tell us, "Who were the Fenians and why did they support the Red River Rebellion?")

Who won the battle of talladega?

The Battle of Talladega was not a battle of the Civil War. It was a battle of Tennessee Volunteers led by Andrew Jackson and Red Stick Creek Indians. Jackson's men won handily. His campaign was much due to the massacre at Ft. Mims in south Alabama. This massacre of 350-500 whites and halfbreeds is the worst massacre by Indians in American history. Greater by far than the Little Big Horn. Jackson answered the massacre in kind. A study of the skirmishes leading up to the Battle of Horseshoe Bend reveals the barbarity ministered by Jackson. His merciless burning of Creek villages, killing men, women, and children, left a blood stain on all those settlers who came in and occupied their land. That includes my family. Jackson lied to the Indians who fought beside him, promising them a sizable portion of Alabama, and it was he who had the largest prod in forcing the Southeastern Indians to Oklahoma, including those who had fought beside him.

What is a damphir?

A Damphir, is a human who is born with one parent (usually the father) whom is a vampire, and one whom is mortal. They have some strengths and weaknesses of a vampire. Most of the time, they can be called daywalkers, or halfbreeds, or halflings. They can have the ability of extream speed above the normal human, advanced hearing, sight, and smell and taste. Most do not require or thirst for blood as strongly as the full blooded vampire, but it makes them stronger. They do not burn at crosses, holywater, or other harmful enemies of the full blooded vampire. However every Damphir is diffrent. Where one may excel in an area, another may fail.Damphir: A strange race to be true, Damphir are Vampires that are born, not created. Being born a Damphir gives them several advantages over their brethren, but they are weaker than a true vampire in most areas.Merits: Being born and not created, the Damphir is unusually resistant to the Vampire's nemesis the Sun. They can survive hours in the sun, as long as they get into some shade every once in a while. Damphirs are also more physical than normal beings, and receive a 5% boost to all their physical statistics. Also each Damphir has a Guardian spirit of some kind, offering them tutalage(if you do not want this benifit, it can be rejected as the guardian spirit inhabits part of their body)Flaws: Though they can survive the sun, it can still kill them. If they are too long in the sun without shade (oh about an hour), the begin to cook, like their progeny. If they become gravley injured, they cannot recover in the normal manner of the living or the undead, and must instead bury themsleves in a grave of tilled earth for three days. Sometimes their guardian spirit acts on it's own accord, sometimes causeing trouble for the Damphir.
