American Indians
The Aztecs lived in a place called Tenochitlain (I don't know how to spell that, sorry). It lies where Mexico City is today. They lived on a large lake to be able to block attacks from enemies. I just learned about this two weeks ago. They would be considered Mexican Indians.
The groups that led the quest for Mexican independence were Hidalgos Indians & Mesitzos followers.
