"The Big 3" was a nick name given to the US, the UK and the USSR during World War2 (not World War 1). In World War 1 it would have been the French, The Brits and The Americans who were the largest of the alliance fighting against Germany.

This is just a guess but, if you are talking about World War I as oposed to World War 2, I'd day "The Big Three" would comprise of France, UK, and the United States.

It could also mean the 3 main Central Powers, Germany, Austrian Hungry Empire, and Turkey.,
