developed many different traditions, religious beliefs, governments, and cultures
The first humans arrived in North America about 12,000 years ago. At the time, because it was during the Ice Age, they probably dealt with harsh, cold winters, and only had mild summers.
At this time, all people made their tools from stone. These tools included knives, spearheads, hatchets, etc. People had already discovered how to use fire.
They were hunter-gatherers, and relied predominantly on big game animals for food, such as bison, mammoths, mastodons, camels (yes, camels lived in North America back then), and somewhat on smaller animals like deer, elk, rabbits, squirrels, fish, etc, and some fruits, seeds, and other plant foods.
They wore clothing made from animal hides. I am not certain what kind of shelter they had, although it probably varied depending on where the people lived. Because they needed to follow the herds to get food, they probably used portable shelters, similar to the native Americans of the Great Plains who hunted bison, and lived in tepees made from bison hide laid over a frame of long wooden posts.

Some tribes of native Americans were nomadic, others were not. For example the plains tribes were nomadic to follow the migrations of their main food source: Bison herds. But many other tribes were farmers or fishermen that stayed in one place.
Most of the Native American Indian tribes in the United States were nomadic peoples. The Cheyenne and the Sioux were tribes that moved with the seasons and with the buffalo herds. Others were forced to move around to find food or keep away from the soldiers who were trying to do them harm.

Transhumance tribes have a fixed pattern of movement while nomadic tribes have not.
Some examples of nomadic tribes still present in the world today are the Maasai in East Africa, the Bedouin in the Middle East, and the Mongols in Central Asia. These tribes continue their traditional lifestyle of migrating with their herds or following seasonal patterns.
"The nomadic tribe traveled across the desert in search of new pasture lands."
