Nellie Tayloe Ross was the first female governor to be elected in the U.S. She was the Governor of Wyoming from 1925 to 1927. The second female to become a governor was Miriam A. Ferguson. She was governor of Texas. She served from 1925 to 1927 and then again from 1932 to 1935.
