The first movie of the Phantom of the Opera 1925 the original cast: Lon Chaney Sr, Mary Philbin, Norman Kerry, Arthur Edmund Carewe, Gibson Gowland, John St. Polis and Snitz Edwards. The only surviving cast member is Carla Laemmle(born 1909), niece of producer Carl Laemmle, who played a small role as "prima ballerina" in the film when she was about 15. It was directed by Rupert Julian.
On October 3, 2010 Carla Laemmle appeared in the BBC Four programme A History of Horror with Mark Gatiss sharing memories of her early film work and Lon Chaney and Bela Lugosi in particular. She also recited, word perfect, her opening lines from Dracula.

If you're talking about Christine, it was Sarah Brightman. And for the phantom (Erik) it was Michael Crawford. Raoul was played by Steve Barton
No Raoul did not die in the book The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. He married Christine. In the stage and movie of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, the phantom lets him go to be with Christine, demands them both to leave the Angel of Hell.
