I'll try the best I can.

Uchiha Sasuke: has many powerful weapons at his disposal, such as chidori, mangekyou sharingan, and who knows what Orochimaru taught him. I think he still has his curse seal, but I don't remember him using it since his fight with Itachi, and I have heard someone say Itachi removed it. He also has the friend card: Sasuke has not shown himself as a convincing emotional liar, but if he made Naruto believe that he wanted to play nice again, he may be able to distract him for a fair amount of time and gain the upper hand. I think, while a dirty trick, no one else has considered this and it IS possible. Also, Naruto would find it hard to kill Sasuke, due to the friend card. It will most likely not happen, as Sasuke seems to be very lofty as of late (SORRY, SASUKE, I LOVE YOU BUT IT'S TRUE!) and would not lower himself enough to associate with Naruto. Sasuke can also use his speed in order to Dodge, and his sword (while infinitely cool) will be useless against Naruto. He may also be allied with the Akatsuki (we know they're friendly but would they help him?) and is definitely allied with Karin, that Kisame-Wannabe (Suigetsu, is it??), and JUGO.

Uzumaki Naruto: has VERY powerful weapons, albeit more known ones. His Sage mode, the Shadow Clone jutsu, the Kyuubi, and rasengan are the most notable. There may have been others that have not yet been revealed that Naruto learned with Jiraya. Naruto is very powerful, and very determined, while Sasuke is cold and uncaring, which may lead to slip-ups. In fact, Sasuke may be seeking his own death by returning to Konoha: much like his brother, he may in fact be trying to cajole Naruto into killing him. This is just speculation, but I've been right in the past. Naruto has the whole of Konoha on his side: every ninja and student that had once lived in Konoha, as well as the allies of the Leaf, such as the Sand. Naruto has more people, resources, and only two foreseeable weaknesses: his loyalty, and his friends, whom Sasuke may use against him. Naruto is also the title character, and Sasuke would almost certainly kill him.

Naruto is the title character, and certainly has the ability. I think Sasuke and Naruto are evenly matched in fighting, but Sasuke is not all there-- mentally and emotionally. I believe that Sasuke is not thinking clearly. Naruto will not kill him: he will not have to. Sasuke is targeted by every city. I don't think there will be a Naruto/Sasuke FIGHT, say, but a confrontation. A fight may begin, but it may be stopped. I DO NOT THINK SASUKE WILL DIE UNLESS THE SERIES IS ENDED.

My Expected Scenario of the FINAL Sasuke/Naruto fight, which may indeed be the one you are asking about:

Naruto is shocked to see Sasuke enter the village, much less with murderous intent. A confrontation occurs, but they are stopped. Danzo or Generic Evil Villain #? announces his evil plan or whatever, and Naruto and Sasuke must team up to save the village. Because it would be bogus any other way, Sasuke sustains a fatal wound. Many dramatic flashbacks occur, SasuNaru fangirls squeal and sob, and Sasuke dramatically dies in Naruto's arms. Due to his bravery, Naruto becomes Hokage. Wh00t.

Much of this is theories and speculation. It is not certain that this is what will happen.
