Aravind Adiga [b. October 23, 1974] won the Man Booker Prize in 2008. The award was based upon his debut novel, 'The White Tiger'. The author began his career as a financial journalist.

Adiga is an eligible recipient, because of having been born, and continuing to live, in India. The Man Booker Prize for Fiction is awarded for the best full-length novel in English by a citizen of the Commonwealth of Nations (formerly British Commonwealth), Ireland, or Zimbabwe. India is a member of the Commonwealth.
