The person asking this question might be a little confused. Alfred Nobel invented dynamite, and because he felt sad and guilty because of its destructive effects, he established the Nobel peace prize. The peace prize (and four others) were were created and funded by Nobel's will, and were not awarded until a few years after his death.

Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, did not win the Nobel Peace Prize for his invention. The Nobel Peace Prize was established after his death in his will, to be awarded to individuals or organizations that promote peace and global cooperation.

One should be careful to separate the Peace Prize from the other Nobel awards such as those for Literature and sciences. It has been falsely reported that John Steinbeck won the Nobel Peace prize- he did not- he was the literature prizeman. Among some famous Nobel peace laureates- and with Black studies month coming up- well three American Blacks have won the Peace award- in Chonological sequence: Ralph Bunche ( Diplomat), Dr. Martin Luther King, and most recently President Obama ( mainly for disarmament efforts in nuclear weapons field). There"s a good opening hand.
