A person can sue a forger if the person suffered damages as a result of the forgery.
The police would investigate the claim, and if they found probable cause they would arrest you.
First of all: Individuals can NOT "press charges." Only State Prosecutors may bring charges in court. The victim/complainant would have to report the forgery to law enforcement who would then investigate the alleged offense. There is no time limit on reporting the offense to the police, but there IS a six year Statute of Limitations during which the perpetrator must be charged. After the expiration of that time, no criminal charges can be brought against them even if it is later KNOWN that they committed it. Why would you want to wait to report it? The fresher the crime is the simpler it is to gather evidence and apprehend the perpetrator.
Forgery is a criminal act and would be under the category of fraud.
The hospital would not know whether you have a warrant or not. However, they will probably call the police to come investigate the gunshot wound, and the police would then find out about the warrant.
Police investigate safety and criminal acts, but not usually civil problems. An example (depending on the laws in that state): If a dad doesn't return a child after the weekend, but there is no custody agreement, the police can go and check that the child is okay. However, they usually can't just go take the child. There usually would not be an investigation. It is a civil issue that would need to go to family court. However, if there is an existing court order, and the mom is able to show it to the officer, that means the dad is breaking the law. He is interfering with child custody. It is then a police issue, and they would be able to get involved.
The old man was mysteriously happy. Her puppy is mysteriously sick. The police were still trying to investigate the mysteriously sudden death.
Chances are the city's police department, or the county's sheriff's office (if the burglary was outside of city limits) would investigate this.
The company was uncooperative and would not provide the documents. Police took the uncooperative witness back to the precinct.
Investigate can function as both a verb and a noun. As a verb, it means to carry out a systematic inquiry or examination; as a noun, it refers to the act of investigating or the process of conducting an investigation.
