Bears are predatory omnivores whilst hippos are herbivores. Taken in cold hard terms there should be no contest however in real life not all herbivores are cute and cuddly.

Bears are agile, powerful creatures with sharp teeth and claws and the ability to slash down with tremendous force.

Hippos are aquatic animals with a thick layer of hide covering fat and other body tissues. Hippos are very large animals and can move far quicker on land than would be expected given their size. Hippos are also one of the most aggressive and dangerous creatures in Africa with phenomenally high levels of testosterone, massive self sharpening fangs and jaws that can open to the best part of 180 degrees.

The bear's mouth poses no real threat to the hippo as it cannot open far enough to make any real damage to the hippo. The bear's claws and its ability to inflict incredible downward force could conceivably do some damage. The claws are not long enough to penetrate deep enough to do any damage to the hippo but the force behind them could theoretically break bones. The hippos bones are, however, located under a very large amount of tissue and are incredibly dense (in order to be able to support the mass of the hippo on land). It is more likely that the force of the blow will be dissipated throughout the hippo's body tissue.

Any attacks by the bear would really just serve to make the hippo angry. An angry hippo is not something that any sane creature would like to be within several miles of. The sheer bulk of the hippo is sufficient a weapon to destroy most foes. Any able to withstand this would have to face the terrifying prospect of the hippos teeth.

What it ultimately adds up to is death for the bear.

An elephant would most likely win because of its superior size and it can also trample the bear to death. An elephant, especially a cow elephant with a young to protect, could even kill a huge pack of lions.

Well first of all, giraffes and bears live NOWHERE near eachother, but in this case, the bear would definintly win due to his/her sharp claws, fierce teeth, and aggresion. While girrafes have.....well..... no source of defense. He/she is just standing there minding its own buissness :)

The hippo would win. It has thick skin to protect itself from the polar bear's claws and teeth, and a heavier weight advantage for strength to fight back. The hippo would also use its large, powerful jaws to bite the polar bear to death. A hippo is also much more aggressive and fearless than a polar bear, which also gives it an advantage to win in such a fight.

The hippo. A hippo has thick skin to protect from the injuries of claws/teeth, and would make it very hard for the grizzly bear to claw the hippo down. The hippo also has an enormous jaw and weight advantage over the grizzly bear.

The polar bear would definitely win (like any bear) if it was a young, injured, or a weak buffalo, but not a health, strong adult buffalo. The buffalo could also kill the polar bear by attacking the polar bear with its head/horns/hooves/weight. Polar bears can stand chances against adult musk oxen because a polar bear can dig its powerful claws/teeth into the musk ox since the polar bear is really big and strong. In a fight like this, the two animals could both kill each other.

The three bears would most likely win the fight because they would claw down the hippo with their sharp claws and their weight advantage.

Who would win in a fight between a nile river crocodile and a polar bear?

A polar bear would win the fight on land if it clawed the crocodile's head and flipped its body to claw its stomach. In water, the crocodile would definitely win the fight.

Between a polar bear and a gorilla who would win in a neutral environment fight?

I don't know if such a fight has ever happened or ever will, but my guess is that the polar bear would win. Both animals are very strong, but the polar bear has bigger claws and teeth.

Who would win in a fight between an ox and a polar bear?

It depends on the health and size of the two animals, and the position of where are they attacking. If the ox struck the polar bear with its head or knocked its chest, the ox would win the fight. If the polar bear swiped and clawed the ox to death, the ox would be a meal of the polar bear.
