While it could not defeat the entire Argentine land army, Argentina has only two ships capable of transporting tanks and mechanised infantry, which would both be at the mercy of the garrison's submarine. Due to economical hardships, Argentina's air force has not been upgraded for decades, they'd still be using the same aircraft from the last war. On the other hand, the Royal Navy is up to date, and it is rumoured that a Trident nuclear submarine is also in the area.
The UN and the USA would also support the UK, applying political pressure on Argentina, as well as sanctions.
