No one can be entierly sure, but from the way Ozai put it in the Day of Black Sun, she killed Azulon to save Zuko and put Ozai on the throne rather then Iroh. She may also have (my personal guess) forged something that made Ozai Fire Lord, but again, this last part may not be true. It's never explained why Ozai is fire lord, so my guess is that she also had something to do with it, which was also considered treason.

What happen at last of the story of the Avatar the Last Airbender?
I haven't read the books but the last episode is probabley the last story or last capter. The last episode of Avatar the Last Airbender is the 4th part of Sozin's Comet In the last 4 episodes of Avatar Zuko carries on training Aang firebending Team Avatar (Aang, katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki and Zuko) start training to defeat Firelord Ozai but Aang doesn't want to kill him so he runs off. when he runs off he is sort of sleepwalking/sleepswimming. he speaks to Avatar Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk and Yangchen. The rest of Team Avatar find the girl who owns the sheershu (can't remember her name) they can't find Aang but the sheershu takes them to Ba Sing Se so they can find Iroh. They find out that Bumi, PNdow, Pakku and Jon Jon are members of the Order of the White Lotus and they lead them to Iroh. Iroh says he can't help defeat Firelord Ozai but he is going to take back ba Sing Se. Sozin's Comet Part 4 - Avatar Aang (last avatar episode) Aang unlocks his last chakra but doesn't kill firelord Ozai. instead he uses a technique that a giant lion turtle taught him and stopped Ozai from firebending. katara heals Zuko after he was shot by Azula's lightning, Iroh and the order of the white lotus take back ba sing se. Firelord Ozai wanted to be next Firelord instead of Uncle Iroh so he talked to his dad and he hated the idea because Iroh was already depressed that he lost his son in a war so the dad punished Ozai by telling him to kill his own son ,but Zuko's mom came up with an idea to spare his life. When Fire lord Ozai describes this event he says that she came up with a plan to allow Ozai to take the thrown through Azulons downfall. He also states that she "commited vicious, treasonous acts". It is heavily implied that she killed Azulon, and then was banished. The above answer is correct information about Ursa being banished and all.
