Philosophy establishes a mental framework of value sets that contextualize the reality experienced by the conscious individual. History is the interpretation of an infinite amount of human experiences through this framework. It helps improve an individual mentally, and some consider extentialism and try to explore the world and find out the purpose of the existence of everything.

An objective would be: "Trace the history of significant terms used in political science and history." And an example would be: "Understand the historical and current meanings of words in this context, such as democracy, political party, and legislature."

History formed when the events happened. Oral and written histories are just later retellings of those events as they were interpreted by the people retelling them and often do not accurately reflect the actual history.
