And when James II fled England he went to France in search of help from Louis XVI and he agreed as long as James would help him with his enemies. Then Louis gave James some of his men to help him claim Ireland back to help him take back England as King William of Orange took his place. James came into Ireland and gained towns. And when he got to Derry it was too powerful and hard to get into. This is why the Siege of Derry began.
