U.A. Fanthorpe is a glorious luminary poet who has excellently composed the poem 'Half past two' . He has beautifully explained the changing and corrupted education system , where kids are not explained there errors they are just punished when they do errors .

Steroetypical Language- " cross " "wicked" these words are usuallyused in primary school sU A Franthrope uses it to bring out the setting.
Compound words - " Grandtime" Gettinguptime" "teatime" this pootrays the boys knowledge on time and he does not think up to now that prope time telling is important.
Personification - " Two little eyes and two lon legs for walking" this shows the emphasis the childhood dreams and fantasy world
Direct Speech - "My god I forgot all about you ..." this show how trivial the matter is for her and the teacher is uded to critisize the adult world.
Oxymoron- "silent noise " further emphasises the dream like quality.

Onomatopoeia- " clock" "click " "scuttling" "tick" This uses the sound effects so the poet can directly communicate with the reader
