Jesus' trial, actually trials, were strange for a number of reasons. In the synoptic gospels, Jesus was first brought to trial before the Sanhedrin at 3 p'clock in the morning, but it is pointed out that the Sanhedrin could not have met in judgement during the hours of darkness.
