Some of them sided with the French and some of them sided with the British. I believe more of them sided with the French because the French were not as interested in expanding and settling westward as the Bristish colonists were, and therefore encroached on fewer Native American tribes' lands. They were on good terms with those tribes for that reason. However, as a whole the Native Americans were divided amongst themselves as to which side they should support. The British had native allies, too.
The British were unable to make the Native Americans into slaves that is why in 1619 they began the importing of slaves. Spain did make some Native Americans in the southwest slaves for mining operations they had, but the northeastern tribes were resistive to actions of the British.
Chief Pontiac wanted to unite Native Americans against the British because none of the tribes were able to drive the British away on their own. Some of the tribes that supported Chief Pontiac were the Ottawa, Huron, Chippewa, Shawnee, and the Ojibwa.
Some native americans are Christian and some believe in animal guides and some are polytheistic.
