This could be many different things. Let us start with the underlying health problems it could be, in the parentheses I will put how to treat it: anemia (eat more iron rich foods, iron supplements), Diabetes, Heart disease, and kidney disease (for all of those please go to a doctor to treat it). It could also be a melanoma, a type of skin cancer.
Some other things it could be: trauma or injury to the toe causing blood vessels to pop, a fungal infection underneath the toenail, if you stubbed your toe recently it might just be a bruise or broken toe. In those cases there is not much you can do. However if you suspect anything is wrong please go to the doctor. I'm not a medical professional and I do-not-know-you personally.
As big as an elephants toenail!!
A big toenail typically weighs only a few grams, usually less than 1 gram. The weight can vary slightly depending on the individual and the thickness of the toenail.
It is probably just old blood (in other words, a bruise) from where you banged your toe at some point. It will go away as your toenail grows out. It is not dangerous. Another condition that affects toenails is "fungus" but that usually turns your toenail a whitish or yellowish color. It is probably NOT blood. I had a black area in my toenail that I ignored. Turned out to be a form of mold in the Pencillium species. Most probably Penicillium chrysogenum. My problem is after that my nail started to lift up and have stuff UNDER the nail. This may be more of a characteristic of fungus, however penicillin is a close relative but it is easier to treat. Doctor gave me itraconazole (Sporanox) Three months is all it's going to take. I can wear sandals this summer!

Well it depends how big your toes are! Assuming they are regular human feet, 7x5 = 35 toes.

Your big toe nail has a fungus infection. The second sounds like a bad bruise or gangrene. We are not equipped to give a diagnosis so see the doctor.
An ingrown toenail. It may be infected and need medical treatment.
