The Australian Constitution was implemented as an Act of British Parliament. Whilst ever we are a Commonwealth country, it is unlikely that the Constitution will not be rebuilt in entirety.

If and when Australia becomes a republic, the Act of British parliament will no longer be relevant, thus the Constitution MUST be rebuilt. The preamble of the Constitution is extremely outdated, especially when compared to other nations like South Africa. This preamble can be changed with an Act of parliament through referendum, as can any other section.

The Constitution itself has received scrutiny saying it is too outdated. this is not necessarily the case. The sections of the constitution have stood the test of time, and has allowed our legal system to build from it as a foundation.

Eventually it will be rebuilt as part of the process of Australia's moving towards complete dependency. In the mean time however, perhaps it would best be left. Remember: "If it isn't broke, don't fix it".
