Have you ever petted a Chin? They are uber-soft.
Wild Chins are now protected from hunting/trapping. However, people do raise them specifically for their fur, just like a cow being raised for beef.
chinchillas have really soft fur and they have been killed 4 their fur to make chinchilla coats
Poachers turn them into coats. This is torture to them. NEVER EVER EVER do ANYTHING to a chinchillas fur.
OF COURSE. Chinchilla fur coats. chinchilla boots. Chinchilla purses. Chinchilla hats. Chinchilla gloves. Chinchilla chinchilla chinchilla. You get the picture? People poach chinchillas. Around 100 chinchillas are killed to create one coat. etc.
People make fur coats out of them.
people shoot them for game and they kill them for coats and it takes 100 dead chinchillas to make 1 coat
Sadly , people use their fur for coats . I have a chinchilla of my own, and i think its ridiculous ..
yes, when people discovered chinchillas and how soft their fur was they became coats and they became endangered. it takes about 130-200 chinchillas to make 1 fur coat (they all die in the process). Plus, today their fur is still being used for shoes (some moccasins) and fur coats.
Chinchillas are often seen in the cold states of mexico... also by the rocky mountains. They are mostly located in these places because of their thick coats, so they enjoy being in cold areas
coats and other things
Chinchillas are known for their precious, soft fur and many people kill chinchillas for their fur coats. Whether it is illegal now or not is still a mystery to me, as far as I know. According to my observations, I belive chinchillas are vulnerable to infection or disease They can be quite cold around other chinchillas and can end up fighting as well. Wild chinchillas reside in the Andes Mountains, in Chile, where they have a low chance of survival due to climate and prey.
Chinchillas are endangered becasue there fur is very soft. Which is made for coats and there population of chinchillas are going down. I myself have one and one piece of advice "DO NOY GET IT WET" i got mine wet because i thought it was hot and it died the next morning but now i have a new one named mo!!
Chinchillas do shed they shed right before winter and right before summer. Reason is in the summer they have to loose their winter coats and before winter they shed because they need new fur for the cold days.
