my Ford ka battery is 2years every morning it is flat even if i have done a 100 miles the day before.
A slight possibility but not likely
could be alternator or charging circuit or could be anything got to do with the battery when its draining out loose connection terminal
Then either something is on draining the battery or the battery has a dead cell draining all the rest and must be replaced.
There is an easy way to find out what is draining the battery on your car. Disconnect the positive or negative battery terminal. Not both. Connect a test light between the post of the battery to the cable end of the battery. If your car is draining the batt ery the light will show it. To find out where the drain is coming from just pull fuses until the light goes out. Then you will know what is draining the battery by the function of the fuse you just pulled. For example, if you pulled the fuse for "radio" and the light went out you would know the radio is drawing the current off your battery.
A short will not drain the battery it will blow a fuse. It may be the battery has a dead cell, or some light is on draining the battery. It can also be a stuck relay.
Something is on draining your battery overnight. Any light or any relay. It can also be your battery has a dead cell draining it overnight.
Reset the check engine light on a Ford Fusion by disconnecting the battery. On newer cars, once the battery is reconnected, the light will come back on. If this happens, disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights until they go off, draining all the electrical current from the capacitor. Reconnect the battery and the light will go off.
Having the same problem. The answer is that I am going to have to take an electrical tester, charge the battery back up, then trace the live wires. There should be no live wires when the key is off.
Check the dome light. These cars are notorous for having a bad door switch.
Ok i have replaced the battery and two alternators and replaceds the rear hatch light switch. still when i connect a light between the negitive battery post light comes on. Power continues to drain the battery over 4 days its dead. Why is it still draining? If you have checked every single light on the vehicle and none of them are on draining the battery it is more than likely a relay that is stuck. Check every relay in the vehicle.
Can be a dead cell in the battery. If so the battery will have to be replaced. Can also be any light that is pulling power from the battery. Check all lights. Under hood, glove box, dome light, trunk, etc. Disconnect the negative battery cable overnight and if the battery is dead then the battery has a dead cell and must be replaced.
There is a circuit live somewhere.
