Antibiotics are engineered to kill bacteria, hence the "biotic" in the word. Viruses are much more difficult to erradicate because, technically speaking, they are not living organisms. They are parasitic and require a host cell in order to propagate their genome. Thus to rid oneself of a virus, all infected cells must be treated and all viruses existing within the organism must be removed.

It can be treated with antibiotics, it's just to expensive and the only people who know how to make the antibody are either dead or sworn to secrecy.
