He wasn't so much "angry" with the United States is just that it stood in his way of world domination. His idea was to conquer Europe, England and then North America. He got pretty far in his plan when you consider he invaded 39 European countries before he was stopped. What he hadn't counted on was England not falling and the fact they were so stubborn. Yet, if the US hadn't come into the war when it did he may have gotten England in the short run.
