The oil pressure on these trucks goes up and down as you drive. At idle it can get pretty low after the engine has some miles on it. I use a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer to replace one quart of oil at oil change. This seems to help all the way around. My 98 has 275,000 miles.
Who knows? Typically engine life is more a function of oil volume rather than pressure, but oil volume is difficult to measure. The oil pressure on these trucks goes up and down as you drive. There is no change oil light on a 98 sentra. The light you are seeing is a low oil pressure light. check your oil if its good then the oil pressure sensor is bad.

Check oil pressure with a manual gauge. Could just be a bad oil sending unit or low oil presssure due to internal engine wear
It is mechanical unit and varies with engine speed and temperature. what is the right pressure? Who knows? The oil is hot and the rpm's are low. When you first start up the internal rotating parts are colder and tighter then at operating temp which will drive the oil pressure up, as the engine gets to operating temp the gaps around the internal rotating parts change due to temperature, causing oil pressure to drop at an idle. Most people never notice this due to having warning lights instead of gauges.
That light notifies you that one of the gauges is out of its normal parameter. Check the temp (overheating), the voltage (not charging) and the oil pressure gauge (low or no oil pressure).
It reads the oil pressure
low oil pressure. faulty oil pump or plugged screen could cause that.
the low pressure port is right on top of the comperssor
Oil level is low, add oil.
