Doug Feiger (lead singer) and Berton Averre (guitarist) of The Knack wrote My Sharona. Averre had come up with the riff years before joining The Knack. Feiger came up with lyrics and the two collaborated on the song after Feiger, at the age of 25, met Sharona Alperin who became his girlfriend for the next four years.
